IMG_7560DC Comic Hero Rip Hunter and The Legends of Tomorrow have hired United We Can to handle garbage and needle pick up for their next shoot in Vancouver.  Waverider Films understand what it means to provide a safe and clean working environment, free of debris and any harmful items such as discarded needles.  Why not go to the experts in this area, and no one is better than United We Can at solving this problem.  United We Can offers a solution to the growing issue around needle disposal and the increasing numbers of needles being found in playgrounds and parks around Downtown Vancouver. For more than ten years, United We Can has offered a lane cleaning needle sweep program that employs individuals living in the Downtown Eastside who face multiple barriers in receiving employment. This program operates 7-days a week in targeted areas such as the Downtown Eastside, Oppenheimer, Strathcona, Chinatown, Gastown and Downtown Vancouver. Averaging over 200 needles picked up per day and over 80,000 per year, this program keeps the streets of Vancouver cleaner. At the end of each day, collected needles are handed off to the Vancouver Needle Exchange for destruction.
